# How To Calculate The Weight Of A Baby In The Womb

## Video: How To Calculate The Weight Of A Baby In The Womb

Long before the birth of a baby, parents are interested in what the baby feels, what he hears, which of the parents will look like, how tall he is and how much he weighs. Such interest is due not only to the love of the parents, but also to concern about the health of the baby, whether it is developing correctly. To find out the weight of the baby in the womb, you can refer to the statistics or to a specialist at the local clinic, or you can calculate the indicative values yourself in a simple way.

## It is necessary

• - tape measure;
• - a sheet of paper and a pen;
• - calculator.

## Instructions

### Step 1

Ask your doctor for the height of the fundus. This value is the distance from the upper edge of the pubic articulation to the fundus of the uterus (its upper part). Fix this value, for calculations call it Bm.

### Step 2

Take the required measurements. Measure the abdominal circumference at waist level with a tape measure. Record the result obtained, designate the obtained value as the value of Oh. Measure the circumference of your wrist on your non-working hand. If the obtained value is less than 16 cm, then the coefficient A will be equal to 12, if more than 16 cm - the coefficient A takes the value 11.

### Step 3

For the accuracy of the desired result, perform the calculation using three formulas, and calculate the arithmetic mean. The first value for calculation: multiply the value of Bm by the value of Oh, record the result as a value of P1. Calculate the value according to the second formula: divide the sum of Bm and Ozh by 4 and multiply by 100, write down the resulting value as P2. To calculate the third method (value P3), subtract the value of the coefficient A from the value of Вм, multiply the resulting number by 155.

### Step 4

Calculate the arithmetic mean: add the values of P1, P2 and P3, and divide the result of the addition by 3. This will be the estimated weight of the fetus at the moment. The error can be around 200 grams.
