Cough is considered the most common occurrence in young children. Due to the still insufficiently formed immunity, it so often persecutes the child's body that you can endlessly treat it with pills. But since there are no harmless drugs, it is worth considering alternative treatments that are harmless to the child and effective in treating even severe coughs in children.
Instructions
Step 1
All respiratory diseases are the main cause of cough. Therefore, start treatment with the underlying disease. But since the cough can continue for a long time, use various remedies for it to promote a complete recovery.
Step 2
Wear a vest and socks made of camel or sheep wool for the entire treatment period. They retain heat in the body very well, thus preventing paroxysmal coughs.
Step 3
Give your child warm, fortified drinks, such as compote or tea with jam and honey every day. They perfectly liquefy phlegm, promote perspiration, which greatly facilitates the child's condition.
Step 4
Since the cough is most often exacerbated in the evening and at night, do various compresses and warming procedures on the chest area at this time. To do this, grease the cabbage leaf with honey, attach it to the baby's chest, cover it with foil or compression paper and fix it with a diaper or bandage. Leave it overnight.
Step 5
Another cough remedy for children is no less effective. Boil the potatoes in their skins. Mash it up. Add a tablespoon of vegetable oil and 3 drops of iodine to it. Place the resulting mass on a cloth and apply to the chest up to the throat. Cover with foil to keep the compress warm for longer. Remove as it cools.
Step 6
To eliminate a coughing fit, give your child pre-cooked burnt sugar or candy so loved by many children. To do this, pour sugar (0.5 cups) into the pan, add a little water and cook until a lingering caramel begins to form. After thickening, turn off and let cool. Break the resulting solid mass into small pieces and give to the child during a strong cough.
Step 7
Include warm enough mashed potatoes with plenty of milk in your child's diet. This dish promotes the discharge of phlegm and is useful for chronic coughs.
