A pacifier is a special substitute for a mother's breast that can satisfy the sucking reflex that a little person has from birth. Despite the fact that many pediatricians and dentists advise mothers, if possible, to abandon this simple item of children's use, sometimes the use of a pacifier is not only very justified, but also extremely necessary for the baby.
Instructions
Step 1
It is possible to offer a dummy to a child starting from 2-3 months of age, it is at this moment that the innate reflexes of sucking begin to manifest themselves especially clearly. If a mother decides to go to work or is purely physiologically unable to feed her baby with her milk, an ordinary nipple can become a necessary substitute for the mother's breast. There are other situations when a mother has to leave home for a long time, for example, the need to go to the hospital or leave for a long time.
Step 2
It is believed that for children born earlier than the due date, the nipple helps to develop the necessary sucking reflexes, in this case, the training of the baby takes place according to specially developed methods under the strict supervision of specialists.
Step 3
Regimen feeding can also be accompanied by the use of a pacifier, it will help ease the gaps between meals, replace the baby's toys, diapers and hands, with which the baby will inevitably try to satisfy his natural reflexes.
Step 4
Experts recommend not to abuse the use of a pacifier and use it only in special cases. You should not impose a pacifier on a child if he refuses it, is capricious, spits it out. It is necessary to give up the habit of sucking a pacifier as early as possible: from the age of 6 months to two years, sucking reflexes systematically fade away and come to naught, while the need to use a pacifier disappears, the nipple becomes absolutely useless.
Step 5
Already from the age of three to four months, parents should try to do without a nipple as often as possible, take it out while awake, try not to use it when the baby is in a good mood, replace it with more interesting hobbies and games.
Step 6
If the pacifier was used exclusively before bedtime as a "sedative" that can relieve stress from a day full of impressions, over time it should be replaced with books, fairy tales and other rituals that will enable the child to fall asleep on their own.
