Moms and dads all over the world have long used slings to carry small children. By far the main advantage of a sling is that it is easy to put on and take off. It also allows you to easily shift the child from one position to another. Hands always remain free, which greatly simplifies the life of a mom or dad.

Instructions

Step 1

The most common form of carrying a newborn in a sling is the cradle position. In this position, the child will be comfortable to carry up to a year. At an older age, children are carried in a sling while sitting.

Step 2

Put the sling over your shoulder first. Then take the baby so that his chest is lightly resting on the shoulder that is free from the strap of the sling. Supporting the newborn by the legs and back, give him the desired position: place the baby on your arm so that his head rests on your palm and his body on your forearm. Now gently lower the baby into the sling. Adjust the length of the strap to suit your baby and you.

Step 3

There is another method of placing the newborn in the cradle position. You can use any of the methods given here. Imagine that you are going to wear a sling on your right shoulder, and your baby's head will lie to the right, towards the end where the rings are.

Step 4

Place the baby sling on the changing table so that it is closed, but the strap is less tightened than when it is on you. Slide the shoulder strap to the side to create room for the baby. Next, place the newborn on an unfolded sling, along it, between the foam rollers. But you need to put it not evenly along, but with a slight slope of the head to the edge of the sling, which will not press against you after you put it on. Now, bending over, crawl into the sling under the strap, first sticking your left hand, and then your head, with the pillow on your right shoulder. Pull up the straps so that the baby is more pressed against you.

Step 5

In the first three months of life, the baby is best placed in a sling with his head turned towards the rings. Some babies like to sit in a flap high, in a half-sitting position, others prefer a position close to lying. Some babies like it better when they are wrapped on all sides and turned to face mommy, like when breastfeeding a newborn.
