Step 1
The easiest option is to wear the baby in a sling, worn under the outerwear. It is best to use a sling scarf. Buy a down jacket or jacket one size larger than you usually wear. You can borrow the necessary thing from your husband for a while. Strengthen the sling so that the child is in an upright position, put on a jacket or down jacket on top. You will be sure that the baby will not freeze, will not suffer from heat and will not slip out of the sling. If you and your child get hot, just unbutton the jacket, and in the event of a cold snap, button it again.
Step 2
If your baby does not want to lie under her mother's clothes, but wants to survey the world, order or sew a special winter insert yourself. Find the right warm, zip-up jacket made from soft material. Pack the baby in a sling, put on a jacket on top. Arm yourself with a measuring tape and measure the distance that is not enough to close the zipper. At the level of the child's neck and shoulders, it will be larger, in the area of the legs - less.
Step 3
Based on your measurements, build a wedge pattern on paper. Increase the seam and allowance for growth. Choose a matching fabric for the upper, padding and insulation. Choose a zipper from the store, the half of which can be connected to the zipper on the jacket.
Step 4
Fold the fabric of the insert, insulation and lining together. Tie off all layers on a typewriter, sew the halves of the zipper to the edges. If desired, a pocket or applique can be sewn onto the outer part of the insert. Clip the insert to your jacket and try on the resulting design.
