Even experienced obstetricians are not always able to predict how long a woman's labor will take. Childbirth is considered prolonged if the cervix, under the influence of contractions, opens less than half a centimeter per hour. Medication can significantly affect the speed of opening, but the woman herself is able to take some steps to make the birth go faster.
Necessary
- - soft music;
- - aroma oils;
- - help from a partner.
Instructions
Step 1
There is no need to speed up the process of childbirth, if the cervix reacts to contractions, gradually opens, and CTG indicators remain within normal limits. This means that the baby continues to feel good, and it may just take your body a little longer to cope with the unusual situation. Also, do not forget that for a woman in labor, the feeling of time may not correspond to the real one. Sometimes it seems to her that an eternity has passed, and meanwhile, the hands on the clock have barely budged from their place.
Step 2
If you want to give birth as soon as possible, a few simple tricks will help bring you closer to the moment of meeting your baby.
Step 3
Do not lie down during contractions. Try to keep your body upright. You can walk, stand, sway from side to side, or even just sit on the bed. In addition to contractions, the baby will also be affected by gravity, as a result of which he will press even more strongly on the cervix from the inside, making the disclosure larger and larger.
Step 4
Change your body position regularly. Not only will this speed up the birth process, but it will also help you find a position in which the contractions will feel less painful.
Step 5
Try to eat and drink as much as you want. Perhaps your body does not have enough energy for such an intense work, and a small piece of chocolate will only help the contractions become more intense. But do not forget to consult with doctors before eating, if they foresee that childbirth may end with a cesarean section, it is still better to refrain from snacking.
Step 6
Go to the toilet. An overflowing bladder can weaken the effect of contractions. Despite the pain, try not to pinch. Relax, even though it won't be easy. By doing so, you will only help yourself. Massage the sacrum area or ask your accompanying partner to do so. A foot massage, inhaling lavender vapors, a warm bath or shower, and gentle music can also help to relax, and thus the birth process.
