Young guys and girls who experience a feeling of love for the first time usually resort to looking for an answer to this question. They want to understand themselves, to understand what kind of feeling it is, whether it is really love or just a fleeting hobby.

There are several signs of falling in love, most of which are caused by an adrenaline rush: heart palpitations, high spirits, involuntary pupil enlargement, goose bumps, lack of appetite, and even feeling drunk. This condition can last from several days to 1-1.5 years.

Falling in love can develop into a feeling of great love, when the impulses are no longer so passionate, but more deliberate and balanced. Great love is characterized by affection, devotion, a desire to take care of a loved one.

Philosophical treatises characterize love as a feeling of deep affection for another person. This theme is a cornerstone in world culture and art.

The famous Russian philosopher Vladimir Sergeevich Soloviev identified three main types of love:

- love that gives more than receives. This type includes the love of parents for children;

- a love that receives more than it gives. This includes the love of children for their parents;

- love that gives and receives in equal measure. The philosopher attributed the love of spouses to this type.

Ancient Greek thinkers identified 4 main types of love:

- "eros" - spontaneous enthusiastic love, exalting the object of worship;

- "filia" - friendly love;

- "storge" - tender family love;

- "agape" - sacrificial love, for example, the love of God for man.

There are also more mundane answers to the question of what love is. Some modern scientists consider it a dangerous disease that can negatively affect human health. First of all, this is due to the stress experienced, as well as to the loss of mindfulness. Feelings arising from unrequited love or the loss of a loved one are especially dangerous. In such cases, there is a real risk of developing cardiovascular diseases.

To understand that it is love you are experiencing, it is necessary that your feelings be constant, not fading away at a distance. If today you are in love, and then you have not seen a person for several days and you understand that feelings have begun to fade away, then most likely this is not love.

It can be very difficult to recognize love, but the main sign is that you want to be together, in spite of any hardships, quarrels, partings. If your feelings are exactly like this, do not hesitate - this is love!
