Handicraft as a hobby is a wonderful activity in itself, but when you need to create something for your child, it turns into a real pleasure! And the baby will be more than pleasant to wear such a work of knitting art made with your hands, because the thing was created by loving mother's hands.

It is necessary

  • - yarn
  • - hook
  • - lining fabric

Instructions

Step 1

Prepare the yarn for the beret. If you are using acrylic, a size 2, 5-3 crochet hook will work with it. If the thread is denser, pick up a hook of size 3, 5-4.

Step 2

Start knitting the beret from the top of the head. Gather the thread into a small ring and tie it with 6-8 columns without a crochet. Then pull off the ring by pulling on the opposite end of the thread.

Step 3

Then knit in this order: 2 row - knit 2 columns in each loop of the first row;

3 row - in every second column of the second row, knit two columns;

4 row - in every third column of the 3rd row, knit two columns;

5 row - in every fourth column of the fourth row, knit two columns.

Step 4

In subsequent rows, add less often, to every fifth column, then to every sixth column of the row. Make sure that the circle does not narrow, but does not expand too sharply, forming waves.

Step 5

You can knit in two ways - in a spiral and starting each row anew. The spiral knitting method is much simpler.

Step 6

Knit a circle until it is about 25 centimeters in diameter. After that, tie another 3-5 centimeters without adding columns, evenly.

Step 7

In the next rows, gradually and evenly reduce the number of columns in the row, thereby narrowing the product. Decrease every fifth column, repeating this for three or more rows in a row, so that in the end the extreme row of the beret corresponds to the volume of the child's head. The edges of the beret can be tied with several rows of single crochet columns, or with decorative petals.

Step 8

If you decide to crochet a baby beret for autumn or spring, sew a lining to it. To do this, from a not very dense fabric (you can knit), sew a lining in the form of a regular hat, and then sew it into the finished beret. For colder seasons, go for fleece fabric.
