How to increase the educational motivation of the child? This question is often heard by psychologists during consultations. Parents come with a desire to "make the child learn." Not all children go to school with pleasure. And the older they get, the more serious this problem is. Therefore, it is easier to start acting when the child enters school. It is in elementary school that measures must be taken to make the child enjoy learning.

Aversion to school and learning is easier to prevent than to deal with a child later. What should be done to make the child enjoy learning? The article will focus on children in elementary school. It is much easier to adjust the motivation of such children than high school students. And the influence of parents on their children in adolescence is weakening.

When your child is just entering the first grade, you should not think about your school difficulties with him. Of course, everyone at school had difficulties. But a future first grader should not be told about them. Share happy school memories with your child: what subjects did you like, what were your favorite teachers, how were you friends in class? If you yourself are happy to talk about school, then the child, most likely, will think that school is cool!

When a child swears at his teacher at home, do not immediately rise to his position of accusation. A teacher for a child in elementary school should be an authority; this is a normal stage in the development of a child's psyche. Without this, it will subsequently be difficult to maintain a healthy student-teacher relationship and the child's learning motivation. Therefore, first sort out the situation, make sure for certain (better not only from the words of your child) that the teacher is really not quite right.

You should definitely provide emotional support to your child, but it is better to do this not to the detriment of the teacher's authority. Support the child in his feelings: he may be angry, upset, or offended. But this does not mean at all that the teacher is bad. Help your child verbalize their emotions without falling into accusations. For example, "it really hurts when you were really preparing to answer at the blackboard and you weren't asked" or "you get angry when you get a bad grade." Only after experiencing negative feelings, you can proceed to an adequate assessment of the situation and actions to resolve it (for example, to work on mistakes).

There are times when a teacher really deserves a blame. But these situations happen much less often than children say and think. It is more useful to first understand what happened, talk to the teacher without the presence of the child. And then already look for a way out of this situation.

The key to good educational motivation in primary school, among other things, is an adequate load. Do not overload the child with sections and circles. A tired child is unlikely to experience the joy of learning. Allow your child to rest, teach him how to do it correctly, adjust the daily routine depending on the child's fatigue.
