Some mothers of babies are faced with the fact that their children are allergic to cow's milk protein. In this case, traditional medicine offers them goat milk, as an alternative to cow's or even women's milk. Many pediatric unions consider this product to be unsuitable food for children, but nevertheless, goat milk is quite popular with parents.
Necessary
- - consultation with a pediatrician;
- - mixtures based on goat milk;
- - Verified goat or goat milk store;
- - boiled water.
Instructions
Step 1
Check with your pediatrician before giving goat milk to a nursing baby. Despite the abundance of information on this issue, check out his opinion, since it is he who is responsible for the health of your child, and he will also heal him.
Step 2
The best solution for babies is goat milk powder formulas. Their composition is ideally matched to all the needs of a child under one year old. Find the right formula at the store or with the help of your pediatrician and try giving it to your baby as instructed.
Step 3
If you do decide to give your baby whole goat milk, find the source of the product, which is the goat. Try to find a reliable proven animal, about which you will know for sure that it is kept clean, and a caring hostess washes her udders every time before milking. Do not give milk from an unfamiliar goat, it is possible that hormones or antibiotics were introduced into the animal's feed. Alternatively, buy goat milk in the store, but there will not be a lot of nutrients in it.
Step 4
When your baby is 6 months old, start feeding him goat milk as a complementary food. Be sure to boil it before giving it to the child, because even if the goat is tested and familiar, you cannot be sure that it does not suffer, for example, tick-borne encephalitis.
Step 5
Goat milk is very fatty and contains a lot of protein, so it must be diluted with boiled water. For the first time, dilute it harder, for example, 1: 5. In the future, gradually reduce the amount of water, after 1 - 1, 5 years, you can give already undiluted milk.
Step 6
For the first time, give the baby very little milk, no more than 50 ml (diluted) and wait a few days. Watch your baby carefully for any allergies or intolerances. If you have sneezing, runny nose, cough, your skin is red and itchy, rashes appear, in no case give more milk. Wait a month and try again to give a small amount. If symptoms recur, forget goat milk, your child is allergic to it.
Step 7
If your baby is good with goat's milk and is not allergic, gradually increase the amount he drinks per day. For a child 1 - 2 years old, the daily rate of milk per day is 0.7 liters.
