There are many methods for teaching children to read. Some parents want to start their studies before one year, while others wait four to five years. Regardless of what methodology you use to teach your child to read, you need to know the basic rules that will make learning easier and more interesting.

Step 1
First of all, try to make your child love the book from early childhood. This does not mean that you need to teach him to read as early as possible, just make it the subject of the game. Let the kid just look through the book and consider.
Step 2
Teach your child to read using all kinds of games, i.e. try to interest him in every way. You can search for missing letters with your baby or read some secret assignments. Children like the game of hide-and-seek by little notes. You can hide the toy in a specific location and leave a note indicating that location. Learn to play this way, and then complicate the game so that the next note will lie in the place indicated on the note.
Step 3
Do not make every effort only to study letters and add words from them, a child in preschool age should develop comprehensively. Invite him to compose a fairy tale, you write it down, and then you can ask the child to read it.
Step 4
Show by example that being able to read is fun. Sit down to read the book yourself from time to time. Children imitate adults in everything, soon he himself will pick up the book of his fairy tales and express a desire to learn how to read like mom or dad.
Step 5
Remember that you need to teach reading from sound to letter, i.e. first, the child must learn all the sounds, and then all the "official" names of the letters. Also, some teachers do not recommend using the alphabet with pictures. The child associates a letter with a certain picture, and later, when reading the word in which this letter is found, a picture from the "ABC" appears in his head and it can be difficult for him to navigate.
Step 6
Under no circumstances force your child to read against his will, otherwise you may completely discourage him from learning. If he is categorically against classes, postpone them for a while or choose another method that is most suitable for your child.
