How to collect urine from a baby?
Unfortunately, your baby has not yet learned to consciously hit the target while urinating, so getting him to pee in a special container is quite difficult. Modern urine collectors will help you here. They can be purchased at any pharmacy, just note that for boys and girls, their design is slightly different. The device is a small oilcloth bag with an adhesive base. It attaches to the body in such a way that when urinating, urine falls directly into it. You just need to remove the urine bag and pour the contents into a sterile container. They can be a sterilized glass jar, or a plastic container, which you can buy at a pharmacy.
In the case when the child does not manage to pee for a long time, you can resort to the following tricks:
- If the child sleeps all night in a diaper, it is worth unbuttoning it in the morning and the cool air will facilitate urination.
- Keeping your baby close to bubbling water will also help urine flow.
- Lightly massage your baby's belly with a warm hand, applying a little pressure. This will trigger the required reaction.

How to collect feces from a baby?
For this, it is also necessary to prepare a sterile container in advance. You can customize the jar or buy a special container at the pharmacy. It is not necessary to wash the child immediately before taking the test. Feces can be collected from the diaper (surface only). If the stool is liquid, then it is necessary for the child to go to the diaper, and the liquid contents must be poured into a container.
