To be honest, no one likes uninvited and unexpected guests, but you have to do something with them, feed them, entertain and generally behave as socially as possible.
An unexpected guest is worse than a Tatar
As a rule, uninvited guests find you at a terribly inappropriate moment - you were about to take a bath, sat in front of the TV in pajamas with a mug of tea … And then there was a knock on the door. Even if you are completely unprepared to receive guests, you have to put on a smile on your face, otherwise there is a chance of ruining the relationship.
Usually, these situations happen on days when the refrigerator is completely empty. In such a situation, reproach those who came that they did not warn them that they were going to come in, so they will not be able to get anything except tea / coffee and cookies.
If guests come in at lunchtime, you can treat them to soup or whatever you were going to dine with. The portions may not be too large, but this is a cost. If you have a minimum set of food, prepare an omelet or salad, it will take a little time, and the guests are guaranteed to be fed. If there is absolutely no way to mess around in the kitchen, treat guests to fruits, sweets or sandwiches. A beautiful tea or coffee set on the table will help compensate for an unpleasant aftertaste.
If guests are unhappy with something, that's not your problem
Clutter at home (unless, of course, you are a manic purist of cleanliness) is inevitable. So the first thing after knocking on the door is to assess the level of the mess. Arrange guests in front of the TV, or just sit them in a room where you can turn on the music, and in the meantime you yourself wash the dishes, put things away, or just tidy yourself up.
You should not treat unexpected guests to alcohol, this will seriously extend their stay at your home.
After eliminating the mess, you can try to entertain the guests. As a rule, a polite conversation on topics of interest to all those present is sufficient. In some cases, you can entertain guests with a board or word game. Do not look at the clock during the conversation, it is inhospitable. Wait for the guests to leave and get back to your business.
Keep in the freezer especially for such cases a couple of frozen pizzas, pies, bags of mixed vegetables. They can be used to feed guests in an emergency.
Sometimes it is necessary to deny intruders an intended visit. It could be an appointment, renovation, or a rehearsal for important events. In this case, explain to your friends that the time is not right for the visit, and make an appointment on another day. Don't worry about being offended. In a situation with intruders at your doorstep, you are the one who is right.
