In Russia, the Day of Grandmothers and Grandfathers is celebrated on October 28. This holiday appeared in our country in 2009 thanks to the Holland Flower Bureau, which delighted the most famous Russian grandmothers with pleasant gifts. Each of us has the opportunity to join this wonderful holiday by congratulating our beloved grandparents.

Day of Grandparents is an international holiday, although it does not have a single official date. The idea of the celebration belongs to Canadians, who on this day pampered their grandparents with gifts, flowers and family feasts.

Gradually, the holiday took on an international scale. Today it is celebrated in more than 30 countries around the world. The most attentive were the Poles, as Poland celebrates two days: January 21 is celebrated as Grandmothers Day, January 22 - Grandfathers Day. In the last month of winter, 8 February, grandparents are honored in Turkey. On the eve of International Women's Day, on the first Sunday in March, the French celebrate the holiday. In the same month as in Russia, the Day of Grandmothers and Grandfathers is celebrated in Italy (on the first Sunday in October).

In Russia, the Day of Grandmothers and Grandfathers is still a very young holiday. And so much the better. Each of us has the opportunity to create family traditions to celebrate this day. Do not remain indifferent to this holiday, pay attention to your older family members, give flowers (preferably indoor), postcards, arrange a festive dinner. Do not hesitate, it will give positive emotions to all relatives!
