The days of chivalry are long over. They were replaced by the equality of men and women. If earlier young men performed beautiful and insane acts for the sake of their chosen ones, now it has stopped.
Crazy times of chivalry
Once upon a time in ancient times, men sang serenades to the ladies under the window and performed many other knightly deeds. In modern times, they have become different. Emancipation is to blame. Women have become much stronger and more independent than before, so very often men are sure that ladies simply do not need their beautiful follies.
In addition to the equality of young people and girls, it is worth noting that all this happened due to the fact that in past centuries, parents from a young age taught their son to take care of ladies, wield a sword, a gun and stay in the saddle. It was this that later helped the knights to perform chivalrous deeds.
All the guys were in the service of the state, regardless of who they obeyed: the king or the feudal lord. Some of them received the highest ranks.
When a male child was eight years old, his parents took him to a noble knight or to the royal palace. It was at this time that he began his service as a page. He cleaned his weapons and held the horse by the bridle at the time the knight ordered him to do so. The page learned to shoot a bow, practiced martial arts and horseback riding.
Upon reaching the age of fourteen, the teenager was handed a sword, and he received the title of squire. The knight attached to him from that time everywhere took him with him, even to celebrations.
All the boys then dreamed of saving people's lives. If they succeeded, they immediately became known for life. Only when they were twenty years old were the young men enrolled in knights. Honor, courage and faith in the Lord, as well as respect for women and courage in battle were the main virtues of the knights. However, they had been preparing for the rite for a long time. Before receiving the title, future brave men performed prayers in the chapel at the temple all night. At matins, first the procession carried his future weapon, then the one who was accepted into knights followed.
Note that it was during the era of chivalry that the cult of the beautiful lady appeared. In this regard, men have changed their attitude towards girls.
Two centuries later, women began to rule the world and became leaders, mistresses and legislators. Then in the poems they were described as strong-willed personalities.
Cruel modernity
Too much time has passed since then. Traditions have changed, and so have people. Now girls are not weak and defenseless. They can stand up for themselves, they work on an equal basis with men, build a career, and sometimes even decide to have a child without a spouse. This is why men treat girls like friends. They do not commit knightly deeds, as they believe that the lady will not be at all surprised at any heroism. They don't pay enough attention to male care. Courtship and gifts are not appreciated. Some girls reject the help offered to them, believing that it is beneath their dignity to accept it. They are used to dealing with everything themselves. Men look at women who are quite independent and are afraid of being rejected and ridiculed.
But the girls can be understood as well. They simply have to be strong, because they believe that men are not capable of being responsible themselves. Here is such a vicious circle.
