The period of bearing a child for a woman is a very serious test. She not only experiences joy from the expectation of the appearance of the unborn child, but also some discomfort. After all, a woman's body changes during pregnancy, since the developing fetus affects the female body. In this case, toxicosis, nausea, heartburn and changes in body temperature are possible. The state of health of a pregnant woman depends on the condition of the spine.
Pain in the spine may also appear, as the load on it increases. During the normal course of pregnancy, a woman gains insignificant weight, which will be within normal limits. An increase in body weight of more than 12 kg aggravates the position of a woman, as the load on the spine increases. Therefore, a large number of the female half (about 50%) have a painful syndrome in the spine, in which there is pain in both the lower back and the pelvis.
Causes of the "painful spine"
The appearance of pain in the spine is affected by:
- lifestyle of a pregnant woman;
- increase in total body weight;
- displacement of the central point of gravity of the body and an increase in the load on the muscles of the lumbar region;
- changes in physiological bends (the stomach protrudes forward, and the back bend - back);
- the roots of the spinal column swell;
- lack of vitamins in the body;
- diseases of the musculoskeletal system (osteochondrosis, pathological curvature of the spinal column, underdevelopment of muscle mass, the presence of hernias).
During pregnancy, the hormone relaxin is produced, which affects the hip-sacral joints. Under the influence of the hormone, they relax, their mobility increases. As a result of a change in balance in the lumbar region, a change in posture occurs, which contributes to the appearance of pain.
During pregnancy, the body releases progesterone. This hormone helps to improve blood circulation. Blood flow to the vessels is formed, which leads to the formation of edema in the area of the roots of the spinal cord of the spine - this can be the cause of back pain.
During the period of gestation, the mother needs vitamins and minerals. Most of them are taken by the developing child. With a lack of nutrients (including AS), disturbances in the activity of the musculoskeletal system are possible.
Painful manifestations in the back can appear in the early stages, and maybe after 20 weeks. It depends on the lifestyle of the pregnant woman. In some pregnant women, pain in the spine, usually in the lumbar region, intensifies in the last months of pregnancy (34-37 weeks). The reason for the appearance of back pain can be the excess weight of the mother herself, and also the fetus itself can put pressure on the lower back.
Immediately before childbirth (36-37 weeks), the female body prepares for labor and can "hold a dress rehearsal" of the birth process, in which cramping pains in the uterus occur with a characteristic painful syndrome in the back.
