Step 1
First of all, calm down yourself and calm the child. Indeed, in fact, nothing terrible happened. Understand that when your baby is excited and crying, his heart beats much harder and faster, and blood pressure rises, leading to increased blood loss.
Step 2
Sit down the child, tilt his head forward so that blood can flow freely from the nostril. The one who believes that the head must be thrown back is mistaken. This situation will only provoke blood into the respiratory tract.
Step 3
Cold can reduce blood circulation, so you can use ice, cold wet towels, etc. Place a cold object gently on the baby's nose, forehead, or neck. The main thing is to keep his feet warm.
Step 4
Remove tight clothing from your baby and open a window for a few minutes to allow fresh air to flow into the room.
Step 5
Gently press the nostril against the septum for 10 minutes. After squeezing the vessels of the nasal mucosa, a blood clot forms, due to which the bleeding will quickly stop.
Step 6
If the blood does not stop for a long time, put a tampon in each nostril of the child, having previously moistened it in a vasoconstrictor solution or hydrogen peroxide solution.
Step 7
If within 10-15 minutes the bleeding does not stop, or when manipulating the nose, you feel a displacement of the child's nasal cartilage, or grope for a foreign object, do not tackle the problem. Call a doctor.
Step 8
When the child's bleeding has stopped, be sure to understand the reasons for its occurrence. As a rule, nosebleeds are caused by: injuries to the nose, head, colds, allergic reactions, dry air, vigorous exercise and the presence of foreign objects in the nose.
