Fruit juice is the first "adult" product in the baby's diet. Before that, he drank only his mother's milk … As for the timing of the introduction of the juice, it is worth consulting with a pediatrician. It is recommended to give juice to some children at the end of the fourth week of life, to others - from 3-4 months. However, there are general rules for teaching a baby to juices.
Necessary
- - juicer (or grater and gauze);
- - fruits, vegetables, berries;
- - water or syrup.
Instructions
Step 1
Start with green apple juice, which is easier to digest and absorb. First, give a few drops after feeding, the next day - half a teaspoon after two feedings, then - a teaspoon after two feedings, etc., increasing the portion to 5-6 teaspoons over 5-7 days.
Step 2
When the crumb gets used to the juice from apples, offer him juice from cherries or black currants. Then you should introduce juice from pear, plum, apricot, pomegranate. Give a drink in the morning and watch the baby's reaction; sometimes juices cause allergies. Dilute acidic and tart juices with boiled water. It is allowed to slightly sweeten the drink with sugar syrup.
Step 3
Add carrot, cabbage, and beet juice. Then start giving mixed juices (just don't combine fruits and vegetables; the exception is blackcurrant juice, which goes with everything). Choose drinks depending on the child's condition: juices rich in tannins (cherry, pomegranate, blackcurrant, blueberry) should be given to babies with unstable stools; cabbage and beet juice are recommended for children with constipation.
Step 4
Don't give grape juice: it is high in sugar and low in vitamins. Be careful with carrot juice: yellowing of the skin and allergies are possible.
Step 5
Later, when introducing fruit and vegetable purees, cottage cheese and cereals into the child's diet, do not forget about juices - do not stop giving them to the child. With berry juices, you can even mix those dishes that the baby does not eat very willingly.
