Growing up, an infant often does not gain weight appropriate for its age. This can happen for various reasons, in any case, pediatricians recommend using baby food to increase the weight of the baby.
Necessary
- - buckwheat, rice and oatmeal;
- - vegetable and meat purees.
Instructions
Step 1
Baby food is divided into two types: formula and complementary foods. The first of them, doctors recommend to use only in the case of a complete absence of breast milk from the mother. Or when the amount of milk is so small that the child does not have enough of it for saturation, and the age of the baby does not allow adding healthy complementary foods to the diet.
Step 2
It is necessary to add the mixture to the diet only in such a way and in such an amount as indicated on the can of a particular manufacturer. This is a mandatory rule of formula feeding, and any deviation from it can lead to serious disturbances in the baby's digestion.
Step 3
At the age of 4, 5-6 months, juices, cereals, vegetable, meat and fruit purees can be added to the child's diet. This is the so-called complementary foods. If the baby is not gaining weight well, pediatricians recommend starting complementary foods with baby cereals containing carbohydrates and various nutrients.
Step 4
Start with rice and buckwheat porridge, and then switch to oatmeal. Introduce complementary foods gradually, starting with 1 teaspoon and bringing up to 150 g by 7-8 months. Over time, stewed carrots or pumpkin can be added to the porridge.
Step 5
Along with cereals, from time to time, give the crumbs various types of mashed potatoes so that the body also receives minerals and trace elements necessary for development.
Step 6
Boil porridge in water, sometimes adding a small amount of cow's milk to them. But it is better to buy canned baby puree and fruit juices, since the amount of harmful substances in them is strictly monitored. You can, of course, make your own mashed potatoes from vegetables purchased on the market, but the amount of nitrates in them may exceed the norm permissible for children.
Step 7
If the child sleeps well, feels good and is active enough with a weight that does not reach the standard norm, you should not force-feed him with a large amount of baby food. The body of a baby, like an adult, is individual.
