Prickly heat is characterized by small rashes and redness on the skin of a newborn as a result of overheating of the body. It is known that thermoregulation occurs with the help of sweat glands, which draw sweat to the surface of the skin, cooling the body. But the baby's skin is imperfect and the sweat glands are not sufficiently developed, so sweat accumulates in the ducts and causes skin irritation, leading to inflammation. When prickly heat occurs, every mother should be able to take emergency measures so as not to aggravate the inflammatory process.

Instructions

Step 1

Cool your baby by swaddling him and take him out to a less hot room. Ventilate the nursery regularly, keeping it at an average temperature of 20-25 ° C.

Step 2

Bathe your child in a bath with any of the decoctions: chamomile flowers, string herb or oak bark. The broth is prepared from 2 tablespoons of dried chamomile flowers (string herb or oak bark): pour them with two glasses of boiling water, hold in a water bath for 3 minutes and let it brew for half an hour. If it is not possible to bathe the child, wipe the places with prickly heat with a cotton swab dipped in a decoction of herbs or in a soda solution: 1 teaspoon of soda in a glass of water.

Step 3

Dry well the baby's skin, especially the inflamed areas. Blot them with a soft dry cloth.

Step 4

Treat redness with baby powder. Do not use flavored powder to avoid causing an allergic reaction in your baby. Or use special products (for example, Disitin, Bepanten) creams that help fight prickly heat in babies.

Step 5

After bathing, arrange air baths for the baby, let him lie naked, without diapers and diapers for 5-10 minutes, and if it is very hot, then it is possible for 20 minutes.

Step 6

Change disposable baby diapers every hour if prickly heat is in the groin folds or on the buttocks. Alternate between disposable diapers and gauze diapers. Diapers should be strictly the size of the newborn, no more and no less.

Step 7

Wash your baby with warm running water after each diaper change. Use special baby wipes only in extreme cases, when it is not possible to use water for washing.

Step 8

Change baby's undershirts at least 3 times a day if prickly heat is on the neck or in the armpits.

Step 9

Use only natural linen, wash it with special hypoallergenic detergents for baby clothes. Iron them before use.

Step 10

Consult a doctor if pustules appear on the rash, in this case, trays and powders cannot be dispensed with.
