For several decades, children's overalls have not known competition. Both the baby and the parents like beautiful, comfortable and functional clothes. Today's industry offers a wide variety of styles in a wide variety of materials, from sleeved sleeping bags for babies to teenage jumpsuits. But most often such clothes are worn by toddlers and preschool children. When buying, it is necessary to take into account the features of the material, accessories and some other points.
First winter clothes
Overalls for the little ones are quite common on the market. Many young parents prefer this kind of clothing. Less time is spent preparing for a walk, and the risk of the child overheating at home or turning around in the wheelchair is reduced. On sale you can find overalls in the form of a sleeping bag with one or two zippers. The most popular shapes for the bottom are rectangle or trapezoid. The downward-expanding baby jumpsuit has the advantage that the increased volume of the diaper does not cause trouble for the baby. The style with two zippers is more comfortable.
Pay special attention to the hood. It should have zip ties to fit the head. Overalls from reputable manufacturers are usually equipped with mittens and shoes made of the same material. If you want your child to wear their first winter clothes for at least a couple of seasons, choose a transforming jumpsuit, because in six months a simple bag with sleeves will have to be set aside for future siblings or given to friends.
Insulation and coating
Overalls for young children and preschoolers are made on padding polyester, holofiber, isosoft. The synthetic winterizer is cheap, but wears out quickly, so the other two options are preferable. It is a lightweight and comfortable garment designed for high-class athletes. When you see on the label that the jumpsuit is made with these fillers, carefully inspect the seams. If the trademark is not counterfeited, you will certainly find a sewn-in label with the appropriate name.
For the coating, fabrics such as polyester, nylon, cordura, chemitek, polypropylene, etc. are used. Windproof "breathable" materials, such as hemy tec or active, are most suitable for the baby. Bologna is not very suitable, because the child sweats a lot in the clothes of this fabric. The lining can be fleece, cotton flannel, or polyester. Fleece is often preferred by parents because it is warm but easy to care for. The names of the materials should be indicated on the label.
Fused or split?
On sale you can find both a one-piece overalls and a set of semi-overalls or trousers with an elastic band and a jacket. For a child who sits in a stroller most of the walk, a fused version is more convenient. If the baby is actively moving around on his own, a set with semi-overalls is better. The length of the pants can be adjusted by pulling or releasing the straps. The older preschooler will prefer elasticated pants and a jacket. In all cases, the jacket should be long, up to mid-thigh. Make sure the clothes are tightly buttoned.
Drawstrings or fasteners should be on the hood, neck, waist, along the bottom line, on the sleeves. Pants can be with elastic bands or footwear. For younger preschoolers, who are mainly dressed by adults, the option with strings is preferable; for children 6-7 years old, rivets are convenient, if, of course, they close well. When buying, pay attention to how tightly the zipper closes, whether there is a flap that protects it from dampness, whether there are holes in the overalls between fasteners, flaps, zipper and neck, etc.
