What the Philips Avent manual breast pump is made of

The Philips Avent manual breast pump comes with an optional feeding bottle. The breast pump itself consists of a funnel cover, a silicone petal massager, a pump cover, a silicone diaphragm, a handle, a pump body and a pump valve. The bottle is supplied complete with an adapter, a cap / stand, a soft nipple for babies from 0 months, a nipple cap, a connecting ring and a stopper. The bottle can be used as a container for collecting and storing milk.

Assembling the breast pump

Before assembling the device, all parts must be thoroughly rinsed and sterilized. It is also recommended to wash your hands well with soap. Be careful when cleaning the valve, as it provides the vacuum effect that makes the breast pump work. The valve must be handled with care: do not insert any objects into it and rub it with a sponge.

If you are using a steam sterilizer, the parts of the breast pump will remain sterile for 6 hours. To keep clean, reassemble all parts of the sterilizer and replace the bottle with a plug. You need to install the valve and silicone diaphragm in the breast pump body. Close the funnel with the petal massager inserted into it with a lid. This will ensure the sterility of the parts on the road.

After washing and sterilizing the parts, you can proceed directly to the assembly of the breast pump. To do this, insert the white rubber valve into the pump casing from the bottom. The body should be secured to the bottle on which the adapter ring is installed. When installing, turn the housing carefully clockwise until it clicks. A silicone diaphragm with a rod is inserted into the breast pump body. It should fit snugly, so press it around the edges with your fingers. The handle cutout fits over the diaphragm shaft. Click on the handle. When it clicks into place, you will hear a click.

The silicone petal massager must be installed in the funnel and pressed firmly around the edges. The assembly is over. If you are not going to use the breast pump right now, replace the lid on the funnel. And to give the whole structure stability, the bottom of the bottle is installed in a stand.

Almost all parts of the breast pump are made of plastic, so be careful not to use force when assembling it. Perform all movements carefully.
