His name day is celebrated on March 9.

Another important church holiday in March dedicated to the saints is the memory of the forty martyrs of Sebastia. They were soldiers of the Roman Empire who were executed by drowning in the icy Lake of Sebastia in Asia Minor for professing faith in Christ. Most of them bore names that are not found today. Nevertheless, one can find in the list of their names quite familiar and beloved in Russia - John, Nikolai, Valery, Kirill.

Of the Russian saints in March, one can note the blessed prince of Moscow Daniel (March 17), as well as Prince Theodore of Smolensk and his children, David and Constantine (March 18) and the holy martyr Patriarch Hermogenes (March 2). Also in March, there are such male names as Leo, Gregory, Alexander, Pavel, Vladimir, Vasily, Yaroslav, Dionisy, Simeon.
