The Slavs believed that when a person rushes down the hill, he awakens the vitality in himself. Children rode to grow up faster, young people - to be beautiful and happy, elderly people - for health and longevity. Nowadays, downhill skiing is a popular children's fun, only there are fewer and fewer slides in the district every year. But if there is no slide nearby, you can do it yourself.
It is necessary
- - shovel
- - metal spatula
- - spray gun
- - bucket
- - watering can
Instructions
Step 1
Choose a suitable location. It should be noted that it must be safe. The slide should not begin and end near the roadway and parking lots. It is desirable that the slide is illuminated with lanterns after sunset. The lower the natural slope, the more effort you will have to make to build the slide. If children 1-3 years old are playing in the yard, do not make a slide more than 1 meter high. The angle of inclination of the slide should not be more than 40 degrees, otherwise injuries are possible.
Step 2
Clear walkways by collecting snow from the area where you plan to make the slide. Use the shovels to form a slope. If the snow is sticky, you can roll balls of different sizes (as if you are going to sculpt a snow woman) and place them on the slope. Fill the space between the balls with snow. Dry snow can be mixed in a bucket of water and transferred to the slope.
Step 3
Cut off unnecessary fragments with a metal spatula. Make sure that the slide has no corners, otherwise children may hit the ice. If the slide is intended for very young children, bumpers can be made to prevent "flying out" from the track.
Step 4
Make a flat area at the very top of the slide. For safety, you can put several sheets of plywood or cardboard.
Step 5
One of the most time-consuming stages is the formation of an ice track. Pour warm water into a spray bottle and spray the entire descent, removing any irregularities with a spatula and a shovel. After that, let the surface freeze for at least half an hour (depending on the air temperature).
Step 6
Using a garden watering can, sprinkle water over the slide. If the water temperature is too high, the ice will melt and the work will be wasted. Water that is too cold will have no effect. When watering with water, make sure that it flows evenly, otherwise furrows and irregularities will form.
Step 7
Leave the slide to freeze overnight.
Step 8
If there is room next to the slide, make steps to make it easier to climb. Planks can be placed on the steps if desired. This will prevent your feet from slipping.
