The position of the bottle when feeding is very important: how correctly you hold it, it depends on how soon the baby is full, whether he chokes and does not swallow air.

Wash the bottle thoroughly in advance, both inside and outside: it should not slip out of the palm of your hand. After diluting the mixture, shake it and wipe the bottle dry with a towel. Take it in your palm by the lower part: your fingers should firmly grip its surface.
Step 3
Take your baby in your arms, in the position in which you breastfeed. Place the bottle against your cheek and check to see if it is hot. Hold the bottle at a 45-degree angle while feeding so that the teat is full of formula at all times. If there is air in the nipple, the child can swallow it, and this is fraught with not only regurgitation, but also severe vomiting, and sleepless nights - gas formation will certainly cause intestinal colic. Unable to sleep well, the child will wear out and exhaust you.
Step 4
The baby's head should be slightly raised during feeding. Make sure that it does not tip over or hang to one side, otherwise it will be difficult for the baby to swallow, and he may even choke.
Step 5
Never lift the bottle upright: the baby may choke, especially if the opening in the nipple is large. To avoid such troubles, you should buy nipples based on the age of the baby, with holes of the appropriate shape and size. Ideally, it should be such that the mixture from the bottle turned upside down does not flow out in a trickle, but drips in small drops. Remember: the baby has a need not only for food, but also for sucking. After drinking the mixture from the bottle quickly through the large opening, he will not be able to satisfy this reflex.

If you have a choice, choose a feeding bottle that is convenient for you. According to mothers, wide "fitted" bottles are best placed in the hand. They are produced under many brands: Nuby, Avent Philips, Bebe Confort, etc. Some of them have special notches on the sides or rubber inserts for which it is very convenient to hold them. Also available on the market are feeding bottles designed with an inclination, the so-called "corner" (for example, from Chicco). After purchasing such a bottle, there are no questions about how to properly hold it during feeding.
