Jeans are strong, comfortable and durable clothes, which, due to their versatility, have found a place not only in adults, but also in children's wardrobe. Today, in almost all stores you can find jeans even for the smallest children, but parents are not always satisfied with the prices and convenience of purchased trousers. The way out of this situation is to sew children's jeans at home. To sew jeans for your child, bring your own old jeans made from a soft, comfortable fabric.
Instructions
Step 1
Take any of your child's pants and fold them in half over their old jeans. Trace them around the contour, taking into account the seam allowances, and then cut out the parts with tailor's scissors to get the cut-out parts of the trousers, folded right sides in.
Step 2
Expand the pattern. Sew the U-shaped contour of the armhole with a strong double stitch from the wrong side, and then turn the workpiece over. You will see that it has taken the shape of a child's trousers with a sewn middle seam. Sew the side seams on a typewriter and turn the future jeans onto the front side.
Step 3
The trousers for the child are almost ready - it remains to modify them and make a comfortable belt. Take a stretch, sturdy knit fabric and cut out a belt strip of the desired width.
Step 4
Sew it into a ring, and then bend the top edge a couple of centimeters and sew so that the elastic can be inserted into the resulting line. Sew the lower edge of the belt to the upper edge of future jeans.
Step 5
Cut out small pockets on the fabric left over from old jeans, focusing on the shape of the pockets of the children's clothes you already have. Fold the edges of the pockets inward and iron with an iron. Sew along the contour of the pockets, decorate with decorative stitching or appliqués, and then sew to the back of the jeans.
Step 6
Simple and comfortable children's jeans are ready - you can additionally decorate them with embroidery and braid.
