It is not difficult for a child to sew a hat on his own. In this case, it will take only 1-2 hours. It doesn't matter which style you choose. The main thing is that the child likes the hat you sewn, and he wore it with pleasure.
Instructions
Step 1
First, decide what fabric you will be sewing it from. The fabric can be different: from fleece, from new knitted fabric, from an old T-shirt. The main thing is that it stretches and fits well the baby's head. Therefore, it is recommended specifically from knitted fabric. The fleece hat is very soft and warm and can be worn in winter.
Step 2
Take two measurements:
- head circumference (the head is measured in a circle through the forehead, ears and the bottom of the back of the head);
- cap height (measured from the middle of the ear to the crown).
Step 3
Make a paper pattern. It should be slightly smaller than the dimensions of the head taken. This is due to the stretch properties of the fabric. But add 1-2 cm per seam.
Step 4
Next, cut out from the fabric:
- two semicircular parts - the base of the cap;
- a rectangle that is equal in length to the circumference of the head - this is the side of the cap. The width of the side is determined at will, but on average about twenty centimeters.
Step 5
Sewing: Sew together two parts of the base of the cap, folded with the right side inward. Also sew the bead on the side from the wrong side. Place the bead on the base and sew in a circle. Finish all seams with a werlok.
Step 6
A hat for a girl can and should be decorated with appliques, knitted flowers, pompons or something else. Attach a badge with the image of a car or your favorite cartoon character to the boy's hat.
