Step 1

Step 2
Design your robe on a large piece of paper. It can be a piece of wallpaper or a Whatman paper. Place the fabric on a flat surface, wrong side up. Place paper patterns on it, circle with tailor's chalk and cut with sharp scissors, leaving seam allowances one centimeter on each side. Do not fold the fabric in half as the fabric is quite dense and will be difficult to cut.
Step 3
Fold the front and back pieces right-side up. Bounce off shoulder and side seams and sew with a sewing machine. To prevent the seams from chafing the delicate skin of the child, treat them with an oblique inlay. To do this, press the seam. Put a tape on top, baste it or pin it with pins and sew on a sewing machine on both sides. If you are sewing a robe from a lighter fabric such as flannel. It will be enough to process the seams on an overlog or a zigzag stitch.
Step 4
Sew all edges of the robe (wrap line, sleeve, neckline and bottom) with a bias tape. Sew on buttons or buttons as a fastener, or make a robe with ties and a belt. To do this, cut a strip one meter longer than the child's waist, fold it in half, sew on a typewriter, turn it out onto the front side, helping yourself with a stick, for example, a pencil. Fold over the open edges and sew or blindfold.
Step 5
Cut out patch pockets. They can be of the most varied forms. Decorate them with appliqué or embroidery and sew to the garment. The robe is ready.
