It turns out that the appearance of a lover or mistress leads to noticeable weight loss. This surprising fact came to light in a survey conducted on a British dating site among 3,000 unfaithful spouses.
More than 50% of men and 62% of women quickly lost weight, starting to cheat on their legal half. At the same time, the weight loss was very noticeable. Men on average lost 2, 7 kg, and women as much as 4.5 kg.
Craig Jackson, professor of psychology at the University of Birmingham, believes there are a number of reasons behind this result.
First, unfaithful spouses become more concerned about their appearance and try not to overeat.
Second, extra sex is a lot of physical activity and burns off a ton of calories that would otherwise accumulate at the waist.
Third, unfaithful spouses are in a constant state of stress caused by fear of exposure. They have to lie, dodge, rush. All this leads to the production of adrenaline. As a result, blood pressure rises, heart rate increases, serotonin levels rise, which leads to additional calorie burning.
However, you shouldn't consider adultery a good way to lose weight. Sexologists note that the risk of heart attack in lascivious spouses is much higher. On the contrary, a happy family life is guaranteed to reduce the risk of all diseases and promote active longevity.
