  • - sea salt, herb or essential oil of rosemary, sage, chamomile for inhalation
  • - cough syrup "Doctor MOM", "Pertussin", "Ambrohexal", "Lazolvan", "Bromhexin".

Instructions

Step 1

During a cold, due to inflammation of the respiratory tract, the natural moisture of the mucous membrane is disrupted. As a result, it becomes dry, so the cough is painful. This process takes place within 2-4 days until the formation of phlegm begins. But in order to speed up this moment and alleviate the child's suffering, it is better to carry out intensive treatment with the appearance of the first symptoms of the disease.

Step 2

Treatment of cough in children has significant differences from treatment in adults, because it is more difficult for babies to inhale or drink healthy drinks. However, the variety of procedures allows you to achieve a positive result in the treatment of colds.

Step 3

To treat dry cough in a child, use warming procedures, but provided that the body temperature is not elevated.

Step 4

Since the child cannot be forced to inhale the hot steam from the tea spout, inhale in a different way. Heat the coarse sea salt in a skillet. Add a pinch of rosemary, sage, or chamomile to it, or 1 drop of essential oil from any of these plants. When they begin to exude aroma, pour everything into a deep bowl and bring it close to the child so that he inhales the aroma of medicinal plants. Repeat this procedure several times a day.

Step 5

If the temperature is not elevated, warm the baby's chest with a compress and mustard plasters. These procedures contribute to the expansion of blood vessels, improve blood supply, due to which the inflammatory process occurs faster. Use plain warm water to compress. Moisten the fabric in it, wring it slightly, attach it to the chest, cover it with oilcloth, cotton wool and wrap it with a woolen scarf. Leave it overnight. You can use hot boiled mashed potatoes for a compress. Add a few drops of vegetable oil to it, wrap everything in a thick cloth and attach it to the chest, and so that it warms longer, cover it with foil. Put mustard plasters throughout the day. To avoid skin irritation, apply them through a thin cloth. Even in this way, they will show their beneficial properties.

Step 6

To soften a cough, give often and little by little warm drinks: warmed milk with mineral water or a pinch of soda and honey, just warm mineral water. Also, give teas with lemon, more delicious sweet and sour fruit drinks and compotes.

Step 7

For the period of treatment of dry cough in a child, carry out all warming procedures several times a day, and after them, make sure that the baby is in bed. Observe the rules of caring for the sick: often ventilate the room, carry out wet cleaning in it and maintain the air humidity - hang up a wet diaper or put a jar of water. These measures are necessary for good ventilation of the lungs and easier breathing.

Step 8

At night, when the cough becomes strong and paroxysmal, to suppress it, you can give the baby a syrup, preferably of plant origin, for example, "Doctor MOM", and when the cough becomes wet - "Pertussin". Ambrohexal, Lazolvan, Bromhexin. They are more suitable for thinning and coughing up phlegm. The dosage of any of them depends on the age of the child, so carefully read the instructions before use: study all contraindications and side effects. Most of the cough medicines are contraindicated in children under 2 years of age.
