Instructions

Step 1

The first teeth in a child begin to form even in prenatal development - at 5-6 months. The newborn already has 20 teeth inside the gums, waiting in the wings. They begin to grow from the 4th month of life. The timing of the beginning of teething is individual for each child.

Step 2

In rare children, teeth erupt painlessly. Milk teeth cut through the gums, while tissue rupture occurs, accompanied by pain. The first symptoms of this important process are:

- increased anxiety of the child;

- swelling and pain in the gums;

- increased salivation;

- in some cases - fever, indigestion.

Step 3

You can notice the approaching teething a few days before the first symptoms appear. A slight thickening can be seen in the gum, in which the contours of the first teeth will be visible. From this day, you can begin to carry out the first preventive actions.

Step 4

How can you help a baby during the eruption of the first milk teeth? To reduce pain, the gums need to be cooled. For this, special teethers are suitable (you can buy it at a pharmacy or a children's store). The teether is a rubbery rattle with a bumpy texture, sometimes with water inside. The rattle is cooled in the refrigerator and given to the child. Sucking on a cold teether reduces pain, and its textured texture massages the gums. You can wrap the gauze soaked in cold water around your finger and massage the baby's gums.

If the baby is already familiar with the first complementary food, you can give him a crust of bread to chew. But only under your watchful eye.

Step 5

The pharmacy sells special teething creams - "Kalgel", "Solcodent", "Baby-dent", etc. Applying them to the child's gums helps to relieve pain and soften tissues.

Step 6

The eruption of one tooth can take 3-5 days on average. If at the same time the baby has a very strong temperature, call a doctor to rule out colds.
