Step 1
Fold the cheesecloth in several layers to form a rectangle. For fixation, you should swaddle the child, put on pants or panties. This is the easiest and cheapest way to make a diaper. It was also used by our grandmothers and mothers. Instead of gauze, you can take a flannel diaper or any other fabric. Such an insert can be used for a child up to three months old, when he has not yet turned over, displacing a homemade diaper to the side.
Step 2
Make a triangle out of thick square fabric or gauze. Place the child with his stomach on the wide side of the triangle and connect the ends on the back. For better protection against leakage, you can put an absorbent pad of gauze or diaper folded into a rectangle in such a diaper. This reusable diaper is only suitable for a baby in the first months of life, before he starts to roll over and crawl, because its fastening is not so secure.
Step 3
Tie a square swaddle at the sides. Fold one or two thick diapers or other fabric into a square. Place the baby on the diaper, lift the edges of the front of the diaper and tie them in knots on both sides. Such a homemade diaper is not suitable for use at night because nodules will prevent the baby from sleeping on its side.
Step 4
Use ties to secure the diaper. To do this, cut strips from both sides on a large piece of fabric. The diaper will look like a rectangle, one edge of which is with ties. This edge should be in front. Place the baby on the fabric with an absorbent layer underneath, wrap the back edges of the fabric, then lift the front side with the ties and tie them on the baby's back. Such a reusable diaper is the best of all the previous ones. It holds well and does not cause discomfort for the child. Suitable for active children who have started to crawl and walk.
