Each baby has a different sleep schedule. Some children sleep more during the day, others at night. Almost every child needs a day's rest. Usually, children up to 6 months old need to be put to bed 3 times a day, from six months to a year - 2 times. Children over one year old sleep once a day.
Instructions
Step 1
Set your child to a routine. A clear daily routine lets your baby know what to expect. By observing the regime, you will always know at what time the baby is usually tired, hungry or ready to play. This does not mean that you have to live strictly according to the clock, but doing certain things at the same time, you will establish a measured and calm rhythm of life.
Step 2
Before going to bed, create the most comfortable conditions for your baby. Put your baby to sleep on a full stomach. Ventilate the area well before bed. Do not wrap the baby, a comfortable temperature for sleeping is 18-20 degrees. Check diapers, turn off external stimuli - TV, computer.
Step 3
Always put your baby to sleep in one place. If the baby sleeps during the day in the same place as at night, he has clear associations of this place with sleep. Create exactly the same quiet atmosphere before a day break as before a night time. Turn off the light, read a story to him, sing a song so that the child understands that it is time for sleep.
Step 4
Lay your baby down at the first sign of fatigue. Then he will fall asleep quickly. If you postpone this time, it will be much more difficult for him to fall asleep. Signs of fatigue in many babies are similar: some begin to rub their eyes with their fists, others are capricious, others become lethargic and absent-mindedly look at the surrounding objects for a long time.
Step 5
Teach your baby to fall asleep on their own, babies can learn this from three months. Do not rock him, give the child the opportunity to calm down and fall asleep. Put his favorite toy next to him, let him squeeze it. When he learns to fall asleep on his own, the daytime sleep will be longer.
Step 6
It is quite difficult to teach your baby to follow the sleep schedule, be patient. If you start doing this in the first months of your baby's life, it will be easier for him to form healthy habits.
