Young mothers may face such a problem that the child does not want to go to the toilet in a strictly defined place. It seems to be time for age, but so far nothing is working out. There is no need to blame anyone for this - nevertheless, children develop in different ways, but it may very well be that the mother should also take the process more attentively.
When teaching a baby to potty, the main thing for parents is not to worry themselves and not to disturb the child. If, due to his age, he has not yet understood why he is being put on a pot, he can understand this tomorrow and in six months. Until the age of three, it is normal for a toddler to use the pot only if asked by an adult.
In any case, you should not worry - it may turn out that the child is not yet physically prepared enough. The muscles responsible for the excretory functions are not yet developed, so it can be rather difficult for the baby to reach the pot and at the same time hold on and not "put" on the floor.
How to understand when it's time to potty train a child
The first sign of a child's readiness for potty training is the fact that the diaper stays dry for a long time. The child gradually learns to control the bladder.
To teach your baby to go to the pot during the day, he should be planted before and after a walk, before and after a nap. If the child is already two years old, it is recommended to ask him every two hours if he would like to go to the toilet. The purpose of the questions is to encourage the child to go to the toilet on their own, without waiting for an adult to take him there. It should be borne in mind that if the baby drank a lot of fluids, urination will be more frequent, the same if he is cold.
The child can and should be praised if the attempt is successful. If you have nothing to be particularly proud of, try not to focus on it. Don't be forced to sit on the potty if your child is overly negative - just put it off and try again after a few days.
How to help your child learn to use the potty
It is useful to play with the baby in planting dolls on the pot, to explain to him with illustrative examples how to do this. Bright or musical pots will not always be helpful - at first, of course, they will attract attention, but children are very attached to such objects. They may refuse to sit on another, for example, at a party or in kindergarten - the situation as a result is not particularly convenient.
Parents often put the pot somewhere in the far corner, as an indecent object, and take it out only to be used for its intended purpose. This is not entirely correct - it is better when the pot is in the room as an ordinary household item. You can move the pot to the toilet or other secluded place later, when the baby has fully mastered this useful skill. Not right away, but everything will work out.
