For the harmonious development of a child, you need to be able to properly organize his nutrition. However, care should be taken so that as a result, the child does not gain excess weight, which interferes even at a young age.
Instructions
Step 1
Watch your child's drinking. Various ready-made juices, apart from special products for young children, are high in calories and their health benefits are questionable. It is best to replace such a drink with plain water or weak tea. And if the child wants just juice, then it is better to make freshly squeezed and, if necessary, dilute it with water without adding sugar.
Step 2
Set a clear diet. It is advisable that a child who has left infancy eat three to four times a day at a strictly fixed time. If necessary, meals can be made more fractional, but so that it does not turn into snacks. If your son or daughter gets hungry between meals, it's best to think about what foods are allowed beforehand. For example, it could be an apple or a carrot, perhaps a low-sugar cookie. The main thing is that the snack does not include such useless foods as chips and other snacks.
Step 3
Don't force your child to eat if they have no appetite. However, he must learn that next time he will be able to eat only at the set meal time.
Step 4
Eliminate foods such as soda and chips from your diet. Limit your intake of sweets, such as chocolate bars. Ice cream may be the best solution - it contains fewer calories and is also liked by children. It is also advisable not to take children to various fast food restaurants, and if otherwise is not possible, choose from the assortment that which is more or less consistent with a healthy diet. Take advantage of the fact that, at least until primary school, you can fully control your child's diet.
Step 5
Review your family's diet. Cut back on your fat intake. For example, this can be done by eliminating mayonnaise or reducing the number of dishes with it. Try to use other sauces, for dressing salads - vegetable oil, for baking - various sauces on a sour cream or flour basis. Keep in mind that childhood eating habits often last a lifetime. By teaching your child to eat healthy foods, you will be doing him a great service.
