Jealousy is one of the strongest feelings that drive the world. Managing this feeling is difficult, and sometimes completely impossible. According to psychologists, there are several types of jealousy. Each of these types has its own characteristics and goes back to its source: suspicion, inadequate self-esteem, or even mental illness.
My half is my property
The statement that a person cannot be someone's property sounds like complete nonsense to a jealous person. Entering into a relationship with a partner, or even more so entering into a legal marriage with him, the owner believes that he is acquiring a slave for himself "for eternal use." He (or she) forbids his partner to look at other people, to like them, and even more so to respond to imaginary or real signs of attention. Disobedience can be paid for by ugly everyday scenes and even beatings.
Possessive jealousy often develops in men. A man is characterized by a desire to rule over a woman "belonging" to him. Here are just modern wives less and less want to be in the position of powerless slaves and eventually elude such love. However, slight possessive jealousy is even pleasant at first, since it confirms the fact of the jealous's love. When ladies show possessive jealousy, a man has to choose one of the options: either, laughing, indulge the whims of his beloved, or look for a beloved with a lighter character.
Reflected feeling
Reflected jealousy is the projection of one's own actions onto a partner. Everything is simple here: if I am cheating, then it cannot be that they will not cheat on me. Very often, the most violent jealous people are unfaithful wives and husbands. They know perfectly well the mechanism of treason and suspect the other half of all sins with or without reason.
Jealousy is caused by low self-esteem
According to psychologists, there is jealousy that has arisen due to the jealous's low self-esteem. Suffering from complexes, such a person believes that the partner surpasses him in certain parameters: beauty, charm, intelligence. In the depths of his soul, a jealous person cannot understand what the partner found in him, and exaggerates the danger of betrayal. Aging women and older spouses of young women often suffer from such jealousy.
The task of a loving partner who has figured out the feelings of such a sufferer is to help the loved one to believe in themselves. Often such feelings are not innate, but are acquired over time, as a result of insufficient attention of the other half. If you love your loved one, do not forget to remind him how beautiful, smart and wonderful he is. After all, if he were not like that, you would not have chosen him as a life partner, would you?
