It is necessary to monitor the increase in the length of the child's body from the very birth - this indicator reflects many processes occurring in the baby's body, and to some extent even the level of his maturity.
Necessary
Heightometer, centimeter tape
Instructions
Step 1
In the children's clinic, the length of the child's body is measured using a rostometer, and at home, you can use the usual "centimeter". To determine the length of the baby's body, lay it on a flat surface, for example, on a table or a changing shelf, so that it touches this plane at the same time with shoulder blades, sacrum and heels. The toes should be straight up.
Step 2
When measuring the height at home, the heels and crown of the baby should be lightly pressed against the surface so that they do not move, and the distance between them should be measured.
Step 3
In the first three months of a child's life, body length should normally increase by about three centimeters per month. That is, the baby grows nine centimeters per quarter. Then the increase becomes less intense.
