In the last twenty years, dolls have gained popularity, which are almost indistinguishable from real babies. They are carried in cars and strollers, like real children, and sold for a lot of money.
Reborn dolls: what are they?
Not only from a distance, but also at close range, it is difficult to distinguish a reborn doll from a real child. Perhaps the only difference is that the dolls do not blink. Now such baby dolls can breathe, cry and stain diapers - it all depends on the desire and creditworthiness of the customer. Even the temperature of the doll can be adjusted by installing special heating elements in the body of the artificial baby. Translated from English "reborn" means "rebirth", "new birth". The first dolls, very similar to living children, were created by the Spanish designer Salvador Berenger.
To make such a doll, special sets are used from the head, pens, legs, torso, eyes, hairs, paints and so on. To be honest, such a set looks at least unusual, not every nerve can withstand such a spectacle. The blanks are called molds and can be sold not only as a set, but also individually. Molds are made by a sculptor, and a reborn master collects a doll from them.
In his hands, the bobblehead acquires unprecedented realism. The master makes glass or even crystal eyes for the doll, attaches the eyelashes and hairs with a special needle, and then paints the vinyl blank. A translucent mesh of veins and capillaries, freckles, moles is applied to the doll's "skin". The last stage is packing the calf. Moreover, such a weight is selected for the doll so that it corresponds to the weight of a living baby. The fillers for the body are holofiber and synthetic winterizer. Glass balls are used for weighting. Reborn dolls can imitate not only healthy babies, but also premature and older babies. There are also collectible dolls that depict various animals and characters in films and books “in childhood”.
Why are such dolls needed?
Initially, realistic dolls were created for children's games, like all other dolls. Then they were evaluated as a simulator in courses for expectant mothers. The use of reborn dolls as mannequins in children's clothing stores is also popular. Of course, such a wonderful toy has found its recognition among collectors. At the same time, there is a more unusual way of using dolls. Sometimes they can replace live children. Parents who have lost a child order a copy of it, and it helps them cope with stress. Reborn dolls are also bought by women at an age whose children have already flew out of their parent's nest in order to somehow survive the stress of an empty house. Girls, playing with such dolls, try to try on the role of a mother. Psychologists comment on this hobby not always positively. Sometimes women who are carried away by reborns no longer need to have real children. Despite this, realistic dolls are becoming more and more popular.
