"Nazivin" is a vasoconstrictor and sympathetic drug. The drug is an aqueous solution with the active component oxymetazoline hydrochloride. For infants under 1 year old, use a 0.01% solution.
Characteristics of the drug
"Nazivin" is available in two forms - spray and nasal drops, applied topically. The drug is prescribed for infectious and inflammatory ailments in the nasal cavity, accompanied by swelling of the mucous membrane. These diseases include sinusitis, sinusitis, and rhinitis. Nasal drops are effective for swelling of the mucous membranes of the nasal passages with hay fever and allergic rhinitis. Also, the drug is used to eliminate swelling of the mucous membrane before surgical and diagnostic manipulations in the nasal passages. "Nazivin" is recommended for vasomotor rhinitis and for the restoration of drainage with inflammation of the paranasal sinuses, eustachitis and otitis media.
The use of the drug leads to a decrease in the swelling of the nasal mucosa and the volume of mucus secreted, as well as to an improvement in nasal breathing. "Nazivin" reduces the risk of developing complications such as sinusitis, sinusitis and otitis media. When applied, the product does not cause flushing and does not irritate the nasal mucosa. The maximum effect of the drops is achieved after 15 minutes. The effect of the drug lasts for eight hours.
Nasal drops have contraindications for possible reactions to the elements that make up the drug, as well as in angle-closure glaucoma and atrophic rhinitis. Do not take "Nazivin" to children with thyrotoxicosis, diabetes mellitus, intraocular pressure and severe diseases of the cardiovascular system.
The drug causes side effects such as dryness and burning of the nasal mucosa, sneezing. In case of an overdose, the pulse may become more frequent and blood pressure may rise.
Instructions for use
For newborns and infants up to 4 weeks, 1 drop of "Nazivin 0.01%" is used two to three times a day. Children from 5 weeks to 1 year old are recommended 1-2 drops of the drug 2-3 times a day.
With prolonged and incorrect use of "Nazivin", atrophy of the mucous membrane of the nasal passages may occur. Also, infants may experience loss of consciousness and collapse. You cannot use this drug at the same time as other vasoconstrictor medicines, since the combined action of these drugs can lead to undesirable consequences.
