In adolescence, children tend to go to various extremes: cynicism, denial of any values, passion for aggressive music, attempts to stand out with the help of clothes, and much more. In particular, it was at this time that interest in sex and everything connected with it sharply increased.
Problems of adolescence
For many parents, reaching their teenage years, that is, between the ages of 12 and 17, is a sudden ordeal for their children. Until recently, the child was exemplary and obedient, and today he already puts on a leather jacket with rivets, makes a strange hairstyle, constant mood swings, whims and nervous breakdowns begin.
During the transition period, a teenager suffers from two conflicting aspirations: to declare himself as an independent person, and at the same time to merge as much as possible with one or another group of peers.
The root cause of all these metamorphoses, first of all, lies in physiology, since it is during this age period that the so-called puberty begins. The adolescent shows sexual characteristics, the hormonal background changes, the psychological state becomes unstable.
This age is not for nothing called transitional: a teenager is no longer a child, but not yet an adult. At the same time, he in every possible way seeks to emphasize his independence and readiness for adult life. In particular, this leads to increased attention to sexual topics.
Why is sex so interesting?
Awareness of the difference between the sexes, as a rule, occurs earlier, but before the onset of puberty, this fact does not arouse much interest. But in the transition period, a teenager begins to be interested in the relationship of the sexes, also because it is perceived as one of the attributes of "adult life."
Communication with peers and the desire to assert themselves also play an important role in the formation of interest in forbidden topics. The competitive spirit in adolescents is very strong, which is why it is so important for them to be at least as good as others. In addition, the attitude of friends and classmates is the most important and meaningful during this period. Therefore, adolescents, especially males, are forced to constantly demonstrate their fearlessness, "adulthood", "coolness". This manifests itself not only in relation to sex - the spirit of competition permeates literally all areas of life.
Despite the fact that it is in adolescence that the craving for romantic relationships becomes more and more distinct, teenagers try to hide it under the guise of cynicism so as not to become the object of ridicule from the group.
Finally, a pronounced sexual interest is also one of the forms of adolescent protest. One of the most important driving motives in adolescence is the need to establish oneself as an independent person. As a rule, to achieve this goal, adolescents try to contradict adults on any occasion, violating all possible prohibitions. Last but not least, this applies to the topic of sexual relations.
