Pregnancy is a great time for a woman, especially when she is desired and goes easily. But often with the growth of the abdomen, back pain appears, it becomes more difficult to walk and lead an active lifestyle. And then a special medical device - a bandage - comes to the aid of the expectant mother.
Instructions
Step 1
There are different opinions as to whether it is beneficial for an expectant mother to wear a prenatal brace. But there are absolute medical indications for wearing a bandage. Back pain, scar after cesarean section, hernia, divergence of the rectus abdominis muscles after the previous one, osteochondrosis, weakness of the pelvic joints. If a bandage was recommended by a doctor, you need to take the advice responsibly and learn how to properly wear this device.
Step 2
Select a bandage model. There are three of them: a bandage-belt, a bandage-tape and a universal bandage, which is transformed into a postpartum one.
Step 3
Choose the size of the bandage carefully. An improperly selected bandage is not only useless, but can also adversely affect the health of the mother and baby. If you don't have the opportunity to try on in the store, then use the standard formula: add one size to your underwear size before pregnancy.
Step 4
After trying on the bandage, pay attention to how you feel. The bandage should not rub, slip, press on the stomach. Usually, expectant mothers finally get used to the feeling of a bandage on their stomach in 2-3 days, but in general, the bandage should sit well and not cause you any inconvenience.
Step 5
To put on the bandage correctly, take a horizontal position. With your hips lifted, wear the bandage like a panties. Pass the belt-tape through the lower back and fix it in the desired position. You cannot put on the bandage while standing, in this case, the uterus, under the influence of gravity, takes a more lowered state and the bandage fixes it in this position. This can aggravate back pain and other problems that the bandage is designed to combat.
Step 6
Wear a bandage for work, walking, shopping. If you are unwell and spend most of your time at home in bed, remove the bandage. Take breaks from wearing the bandage. It is not recommended to wear the bandage continuously for more than 6-7 hours.
Step 7
If you removed the bandage when going to the bathroom or toilet, put it on again in a horizontal position. It is also most convenient to remove the bandage while lying down.
Step 8
Never sleep in a bandage even during the day! This can compress important blood vessels, which is harmful for both mom and baby.
Step 9
Follow these tips and consult your doctor, and then wearing the brace will only benefit you.
