Many pediatricians do not recommend cow's milk until a child is two years old. But it is milk that is the basis for healthy and necessary cereals in baby food. Is there an alternative to the usual product? Sure. Try preparing cereals with a balanced infant formula.

It is necessary

  • - baby food (formula 2 or 3);
  • - cereals, flakes or cereal flour;
  • - Apple.

Instructions

Step 1

The basis of baby porridge is rice, buckwheat or oat flour. You can buy ready-made, or you can cook it yourself, oatmeal, rice, millet or buckwheat tar in a coffee grinder or food processor.

Step 2

For cereals, an infant formula designed to feed children over 6 months old is suitable (most manufacturers designate these formulas as numbers 2 or 3). To preserve the vitamins and trace elements contained in the mixture, add it to the ready-made porridge without further cooking.

Step 3

Put the selected cereal in a saucepan and pour boiling water over it. To make the porridge successful, that is, neither too thick nor too thin, choose the correct proportion of cereals. One part of buckwheat will need 2 parts of water.

Step 4

Place the pot on a hot stove. Porridge made from flour or ground flakes is cooked quickly - no more than 3-5 minutes. Remove from heat and cool to an acceptable temperature for food. Pour the mixture into the prepared porridge. Add half the usual proportion - if 3 tablespoons of the mixture is required for feeding with a diluted mixture per 100 ml of liquid, one and a half tablespoons will be required in porridge of the same volume. It is better for babies not to add salt or sugar to the porridge.

Step 5

Another option for cooking porridge involves boiling cereals in water, bringing the porridge to readiness in the oven and then placing it in a blender. Porridge processed with a blender has a slightly different structure and some children like it more. Add the mixture to the puree mass, stir thoroughly.

Step 6

Children after a year can also be offered semolina porridge. Try making a delicious mousse out of it. Boil water in a saucepan, add semolina, stir. Cook the mixture for a couple of minutes and add the grated peeled apple. Cook everything together until tender. Remove from heat, cool slightly and add dry mixture. Stir the porridge thoroughly.
