Often in primary grades, children do not understand why they need to learn, they do not see the ultimate goal. They still want to play and waste their time. There are certain methods of influencing a child that will change him for the better.
In specific cases, primary school students, after the first grade, understand that they still have to study. Since they have already joined the process, they realize that this is their area of responsibility. The only difficulty for parents will be helping them with their studies in specific subjects.
All cases are individual. But keep in mind that if your child did not want to do anything in first grade, this does not mean that the same will happen in second grade. Awareness comes to everyone at different ages. Someone in the third grade, someone takes responsibility from the first, most often girls.
How to get your child to read
You can use a previously prepared phrase: “Listen, son, I persuaded you to read for an hour and a half, and we read for fifteen minutes. If you agreed right away, then already fifteen hours, you would go about your business. That is, persuasion to read takes much longer than the process of reading itself.
Saying this phrase, you can make a "click" in the child's mind, and it is highly likely that the student realizes the importance of time. Understand that "time management" is not only an adult, but also a child. The next time you ask him to read something, he will not want to sit too much time, he will just do the job and free himself. Tell him about it in a relaxed atmosphere, over a cup of tea, not during the assignment.
He says that he is tired, he can't take it anymore, he doesn't want to
Try to tell your child that it is really difficult for him, he does not want to study, and he gets tired, but all children are in the same situation. Everyone in his class experiences the same in his school. Everyone wants to come home and play or watch TV or just lie down, but nobody wants to do their homework.
But everyone does their homework, the absolute majority of primary school students get tired, many have to attend additional circles, sections. Those who are excellent students are exposed to an even greater burden, they have to spend even more time.
Tell him that you, and dad, and grandfather, and grandmother have gone this way. Such words at some point relieve psycho-emotional stress, the child immediately realizes that this is a "team game", there is no other way. Sharing one's lot with others somehow eases the state of the student, this is a psychological technique that even works for adults.
Try to influence your student with the proposed methods. Everyone has different experiences, for some it will work, for some it will not work, for some it is simply not necessary. Look for different ways of influence, because no one knows better than the child's own mother!
