How to make your own baby bed? This question worries many newly-born parents who care about the safety of their heir, since the products sold on the market do not always meet the reliability requirements.
The products offered by our stores are far from always able to satisfy the tastes of consumers. In this case, there is only one solution - to start making the crib on your own. Of course, this is only possible if daddy has some skill in making household items.
If he is capable of such a "feat" - then the question of how to make a baby bed yourself is not insoluble. For the manufacture of the structure, you will need materials and tools such as boards, the thickness of which will be 4-5 cm, plywood, a sander, a plane, stain and brushes, an electric saw and a drill, slats and self-tapping screws.
Assembling the crib
When everything is prepared, you can start directly to work. So, first of all, you should decide on the dimensions. It is recommended to make a bed "for growth" - that is, with a margin, for its further use when the child grows up. However, it should be remembered that mattresses are strictly standardized in size.
All details should be further processed. A plane is used for this purpose. When all the elements are beautiful and perfectly even, then no one can distinguish the sleeping place from the factory counterpart.
Next, they start sawing the boards. Plywood and support rails must have the geometric dimensions of the mattress, and the height of the legs can be taken at your discretion. All this is sanded with a special grinder.

Painting the product
You can, among other things, make a headboard. For this part, you will need to take fiberboard. The backrest must be attached to the structure and grabbed with screws. Then you can start painting the bed. The painting is done in two layers. But if the color is not satisfactory, then one more layer should be applied, until the desired visual effect is obtained. It is important to know that each layer will dry for at least five hours.
