So, if you are going to measure the temperature under the arm, undress the child, this is necessary so that the thermometer is in direct contact with the baby's skin, and not with the clothes. Next, place the thermometer under your arm and wait for the required time - usually a signal sounds in electronic thermometers at the end of the measurement. The baby's handle must be held so that the thermometer is firmly pressed against the body.

To measure the temperature in your baby's mouth, wait a little time after he eats or drinks any liquid. Place the tip of the thermometer in the baby's mouth so that it is under the tongue and the baby's mouth is closed. It is best for the baby to breathe through the nose, not the mouth. Pull out the thermometer in the same way after the beep. Make sure that the child is calm, because if he starts to move suddenly, you can damage the mucous membranes of the mouth.
Step 3
Rectal temperature measurements are most accurate. Take a thermometer, and lubricate its tip with petroleum jelly or baby oil, put the baby on its side, the baby must behave calmly, otherwise the measurements will not be objective. Insert the thermometer into the anus, and insert it to a depth of 1.5-2 cm, hold the thermometer for the required time. Measurements can also be made at the bend of the elbow or knee. This should be done by analogy with measuring the temperature under the arm.
