Ear pain in a child is a fairly common phenomenon. The problem is that in infancy, the baby cannot independently inform his parents about what exactly bothers him. Therefore, parents can understand that it is time to call a doctor, only by indirect signs, focusing on the child's behavior.
Instructions
Step 1
Watch your baby if he behaves restlessly, has become more capricious, shakes his head, cries, rubs his ear, perhaps he begins to have otitis media.
Step 2
If a child has an ear ache, he does not sleep well, toss and turn, because he cannot find a position in which he will feel comfortable. Heat soothes the pain, so the baby may try to press the sore ear to the pillow.
Step 3
The child may refuse to eat, as chewing and swallowing gives him pain.
Step 4
An increase in temperature to 38-39 degrees is one of the signs of otitis media. Since this is an inflammatory disease, it proceeds in an acute form.
Step 5
In advanced cases, a child's ear may have a yellow-green fluid with or without blood splashes. The ear canal itself may turn red.
Step 6
Otitis media can occur against the background of postponed respiratory diseases as a complication. Therefore, during this period, you need to observe the child especially carefully.
Step 7
In order to check if the ear hurts, you need to lightly press on the tragus - a small tubercle on the outside of the ear in front of the entrance to the auricle, which will cause painful sensations and the baby will cry. But this method does not work in all cases, since otitis media is not always accompanied by pain. Therefore, this method cannot be considered universal.
