Fish is one of the healthiest foods around. Therefore, it must be included in the diet of a small child. The main thing is to know at what age and in what quantity.
Instructions
Step 1
Fish contains a large amount of protein, which is responsible for the structure of the cells of the child's body. In addition, it is a source of polyunsaturated fatty acids, fluorine, phosphorus, iron, potassium and magnesium.
Step 2
Start introducing fish into the baby's diet no earlier than after 9-10 months of the baby's life. Introduce your child to the new dish very carefully and gradually.
Step 3
First, feed the fish on the tip of a teaspoon to your baby, increasing the dose each time. For 2-3 weeks, bring the volume to 100 grams. Include a fish dish in the diet of a small child no more than 1-2 times a week.
Step 4
Pediatricians advise giving children sea fish (salmon, hake, cod, flounder). It rarely causes allergic reactions and contains a large amount of trace elements useful for the development of the child. From river species it is better to give preference to trout, pike perch or silver carp. They have very tender meat and large bones.
Step 5
It is better to cook fish dishes yourself. To do this, purchase only fresh and thawed fish from specialized stores. Try not to buy ready-made canned fish and mashed potatoes, the fish in them may not be chopped enough and of poor quality.
Step 6
At the initial stages of introducing fish into the baby's diet, give him only mashed potatoes, from 11 months, introduce coarsely chopped, and after 1 year - dishes cooked in pieces.
Step 7
Fish is a very healthy product, but, despite the large number of advantages, it also has a significant drawback. Fish can cause allergies. Therefore, be careful when introducing it into your baby's diet. Monitor your child's reactions to this product carefully. If you find any allergic manifestations, contact your pediatrician right away. You may need to postpone the introduction of fish dishes into your baby's diet until they are 3 years old.
