"Whims of pregnant women" - the meaning of this phrase is familiar, probably, to everyone. If a pregnant lady wants a banana or a chocolate bar, nothing but tenderness will cause such a desire. But some people crave beer.
With an unplanned pregnancy, it often happens that the expectant mother, not yet knowing about the child, leads a fairly active lifestyle and still allows herself to drink alcohol. When a woman finds out that she is in an interesting position, it may seem difficult for her to change her lifestyle and give up bad habits without preparation.
But no matter how much some expectant mothers would like to hear that drinking a little beer is not harmful, the answer to this is negative. And do not blame evil doctors who only think about how to deprive a pregnant woman of all the joys of life. Numerous studies convincingly prove that drinking beer is strictly prohibited during pregnancy.
Pregnancy and beer
Caring for the health of the unborn child and beer are incompatible things. Regularly drinking a little beer in the first and second trimester of pregnancy, there is a high risk of having a baby with different types of deformities. Any sensible mother should completely give up alcoholic beverages if she wants her unborn child to be in good health.
Drinking beer, even in small quantities, can cause a rather formidable symptom of intrauterine growth retardation - IUGR. A child with this condition does not develop sufficiently, he does not have enough oxygen. Gradually, this leads to placental insufficiency, and this has a bad effect on the placenta and on the development of the fetus.
Can i have a little beer early in pregnancy?
If the gestation period is short, but the expectant mother does not stop pampering herself with beer, even from time to time, any problem in the development of the child is aggravated. The most severe and advanced cases can result in intrauterine fetal death.
Drinking alcoholic beverages early in pregnancy can lead to withdrawal symptoms in the third trimester. This is typical for experienced alcohol addicts. Its famous manifestations are trembling in hands, a strong desire to drink, and in the morning such people need to take a small portion of alcohol to feel better.
As for non-alcoholic beer, drinking it is even more harmful than regular beer. A large number of preservatives and additives in its composition can harm even a non-pregnant woman.
Not taking any alcoholic beverages during pregnancy is the only correct behavior. Only in this case there is a chance to give birth to a healthy and strong baby.
