Step 1
You need to convey the concept of time to your child. The easiest way to do this is using the example of the change of day and night - explain to the child the sequence of the change of morning, lunch, evening, day and night.
Step 2
Using the example of a child's daily routine, explain to him the sequence of events - after waking up, he washes, has breakfast, etc. Use your favorite fairy tales or stories, recite each stage from the perspective of the past and present. Explain to him the concepts of future, present and past. The present is what is happening now ("we are talking, playing"). The future is what we will do tomorrow ("let's go to the zoo"). The past is what we did in the summer, for example (“went to the sea”). Focus on these aspects when communicating with your child during the day, while walking. To make the child remember better, compare the time with significant events - the baby's birthday, New Year's Eve, etc.
Step 3
Get a timer with large numbers and colorful drawings - tell your baby what minutes, hours and seconds are. Match time with action - play a game with your child to determine the number of jumps (claps, squats) that he can do in a second, minute, several minutes.
Step 4
Children remember the seasons best. You need to create the right associations - autumn and falling leaves, winter and sledding, summer and swimming in the river, spring and the appearance of the first flowers. Use visual examples - discuss with your child the dress code at different times of the year.
Step 5
Introduce your child to be able to count and understand why numbers are needed. Let the clock hang in a conspicuous place - train every day, gently inviting your child to set the time, give him tasks for a few minutes, etc. First, he must understand how the hour hand moves - connect the concept of 7 o'clock with awakening. Then explain to your child how the minute hand moves - give examples. Playfully teach him how to manage time - ask him to come to you in 15 minutes, go to bed in half an hour, etc.
