A bright and beautiful textile pocket on a baby cot is a convenient solution for storing a wide variety of things a child needs, from toys and baby hygiene items to some items of clothing. In such pockets, you can store socks, sliders, undershirts, and much more - the pocket will save parents time and space to find certain things that are constantly required to care for the baby. To sew a pocket, you only need a needle, thread, satin ribbon, and a colorful cotton towel.
Instructions
Step 1
Fold a natural fabric towel in half with the right side inward. Then take two cuts of the satin ribbon that are longer than the side of the future pocket.
Step 2
Fold the ribbons in half and attach them to the sides of the future pocket, directing the fold of the ribbon to the bottom of the pocket, and directing the free ends up. Make the loose ends of the tape that will extend upward from the pocket long enough to tie it to the crossbar of the crib.
Step 3
Machine or hand-sew the sides of the towel together from the wrong side, and then sew the straps attached to the top, guiding the stitch along the fold of the strap from the inside.
Step 4
Turn the pocket right out. You will see two ribbons coming out of its top corners on each side.
Step 5
Ribbons can be overcast or zigzagged to make them last longer. All seams in the pocket remain on the inside and are invisible from the outside. Iron the pocket and tie it to the top bar of the crib using the ribbons.
Step 6
A convenient pocket is ready - you can store baby toys, rattles, combs, clothes, and much more in it. When the child grows up, he will be able to use the pocket for his personal needs, and before that, the pocket will be able to save space in the house, since you will store the essentials in it.
